Alton Towers and return marbella /cherbourg

And so it was the girls planned from months ago , trip to Alton Towers suzie laura fifi and sj two rooms car rented in manchester we drove throught he midlands to Alton we just had the best few days , hairy scary rides that would curl your hair , we did the lot , it rained and rained , plastic ponchos sogging feet dripping hair , but did we care ?? Of course not will load some photos .
A weekend planned in marbella with the girls to sort out the house , veg, take out the boat , do a bit of skiing , and chill before the long drive back .
Most relaxing I might add , I piled the car high with everybodies everything and Fifi and I set off from Marbella at 3pm on a monday . We managed to get as far as Chinchon , about 700km and my wonderful (mostly) satnav , Rick , took me off the motorway towards the town , or so I thought , after 30 minutes , a narrow road , a narrower dirt trrack and a field , and a hedge in front of me , Hey I m not in Chinchon !! eventually at about 10 pm I found the hotel the town and a restaurant ! Yippee .
A tour of the village , and off again this time Biarritz was my destination . The temperature slowly began to fall from 32 degrees to a 16 once we hit the pyranees , the cloud came over and the bloody rain came down . the traffic was bumper to bumper for miles and miles , this was not a happy day !! Fifi was fantastic, she wasnt great at the map reading , hey , but really good company and was enjoying it !
Biarritz, nice hotel , fab restaurant , margaritas , but cold cold , winter had arrived for the French , apparently they had had a horrendous summer also . an umbrella later ,a fleece and a jacket we set off , and drove to Rennes , still raining , raining , raining , cold cold cold . Rennes was cool , but not much time to hang around we arrived at cherbourg the next day at 4 pm . luxurious accomodation (about the same size as my utility room , shrek 3 in the cinema , dinner in renoirs , we retired to our cabin and I did my usual on boats , slept for Ireland .Short enough journey from Rosslare to Dublin , but was I ever a happy bunny to be finally home til christmas ! stop laughing , Its true .college for me , wine diploma course , digital photography course , busy busy winter ahead , and guess what ??? I cant wait !!

And for those of you that know me predictable would not be my middle name so after a manic couple of weeks in Marbella where the party on the 14th turned into a two week party , 6a.m 6a.m 6a.m . hello thanks to all of you who came partied and stayed 1 We had such crack , from white sangria lunches on mistal to boat trips to niki beach to astro bar in bikinis to joys in same bikinis til 6a.m to Dec,s 50th , Jacko s 51st , Richards 52nd Mick and Aileens 25th and not forgetting DH s 50th Was it manic or what ????? It really was a most memorable vacation , but Was I ever a happy girlie finally waving goodbye to you all including my family and chilling on the beach with Lizzie and Jackie ???? And then flying back to Dublin via madrid to spend the weekend with Fifi before she headed to Schull , and leaving my beloved RR in Marbella????!!!!
And so to a few days in Dublin , bringing the sunshine to you poor drowned July people walking the hill , and catching up with friends and then off with me yet again to Pennsylvania , pick up a car , sat nav my way to Pine Valley and New York , Balthazar , the Spice Market , Ciprianis , Soho Grand Broadway , god I am sooo exhausted just writing this and finally back on the 8th for SJs 17th unpack , veg and off to Shanahans . And so leaves a few days before the off again with the girlettes to Alton Towers for a few hair raising experiences , back to Dublin for a day and off to Marbella for the weekend and then the 2000 km journey with the RR to Cherbourg with Fifes , and believe me the summer wil then be well and truly over , back to school for everyone in my house , its been a completely mad summer , but amazing totally amazing . Thanks to all of you reading this that travelled down to Marbella for the big party stayed partyied and left in plastic bags !!!!!
